01 // The Mission

This is not a jobs board.

Most job boards treat space like it’s just another industry. Post a role. Filter résumés. Schedule interviews. Apogee disagrees with that premise at a fundamental level.

The space industry is built by people who had to be there — people who can’t explain their drive in polite, professional terms, who yearn for the vast expanse of space and started building toward it long before anyone gave them permission.

Apogee is a declaration that this industry needs good people, and that the ones who belong in it deserve a better way to be found.

The Bar

We hire explorers.

The people who’ve re-landed rockets and put rovers on Mars aren’t looking for the most decorated résumé. They’re looking for the person who had to be there.

02 // The Candidates

And those people are everywhere.

In universities without aerospace programs. In garages, building things nobody asked them to build. In industries that have nothing to do with space — yet.

But most recruiting infrastructure isn’t built to find them. It filters on keywords. It ranks on credentials. It misses the signal entirely.

The Bet

Couldn’t not build.

The best candidates for the space economy aren’t the ones who look best on paper. They’re the ones who couldn’t not build.

03 // The Builder

I built this because I had to.

Dr. Leon Vanstone, founder of Apogee

I’m Dr. Leon Vanstone. Apogee is the thing I built that nobody asked me to build.

I know what it feels like to want to reach for the stars and have no obvious next step. So I started building. First Texas Rocket Engineering Lab at UT Austin, where we helped place more than 1,000 people into space companies. Then SWIFT, the national non-profit. Now Apogee.

It’s built by interviewing the people who do the hiring — so the profile you fill out gives them exactly what they’re looking for. No guessing. No noise.

Fill it out. It’s the best way we can launch your space career.

The Workforce

Show up ready.

This is who you’d stand alongside — the people who build hardware that has to work the first time, every time.

04 // The Platform

The space industry is biased toward action.

So Apogee asks you for two things — your conviction and your evidence.

About

Say why.

Conviction is the most hireable quality in the space economy. If you really care, you’ll learn whatever you need to learn and do whatever the work demands. Recruiters know this. They ask about it first.

Portfolio

Show the work.

This is the evidence. If you’re motivated, you’ve already built things nobody asked for — the garage project, the side repo, the thing you couldn’t stand didn’t exist yet. Your portfolio proves you execute.

Where to start

The only way to start is to do something. The first thing is to build out your profile.
